Sep 23, 2016 Remembering Jackie Lett: One Of Mississippi’s Most Influential Women in Media

Jackie M. Lett, a former Media Director at GodwinGroup, died Thursday, Sept. 8, after a long illness. During her lifetime, Jackie made significant advancements for her industry and for the many women who would follow in her footsteps.

Lett was the first female president of the Jackson Advertising Federation, elected in 1976. For two consecutive years, she was named the club’s Advertising Woman of the Year and received the Ad Federation Silver Medal in 1991. She’s also listed in the “Who’s Who of American Women” 10th edition.

“What Mississippi radio and TV are today is in a large part due to the lifelong work and dedication of Jackie Lett to the broadcast industry,” said Johnny Boswell, Owner of Boswell Media.

Before her 30 years with the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters, Jackie called GodwinGroup her career home.

Described as a mentor and friend by those who knew her, Jackie leaves behind a legacy that can be felt throughout Jackson and the state of Mississippi.
