Top advertising executives to meet in Jackson

GodwinGroup hosting global MAGNET organization

JACKSON, Miss. (Sept. 25, 2013)—GodwinGroup on Sept. 26-28 will host in Jackson an estimated 50 top advertising executives hailing from 20 states as well as France, Spain and Denmark.

The attendees are members of MAGNET, the Marketing & Advertising Global Network, an affiliation of successful, independent advertising and marketing agencies that represent a combined $4 billion annually in billings. The group met earlier this year in Milwaukee and next year meets in Newport Beach, Cal.

GodwinGroup is proud to bring some of the most creative, outstanding advertising minds to Jackson and show them what Southern hospitality is all about,” said Philip Shirley, Godwin’s chairman and CEO. “These meetings are attended only by MAGNET members as we spend two days sharing best practices and professional development.

“Our members are excited about coming to Jackson and we have had a great response.”
The group will start the conference Thursday evening with a reception at the Mississippi Museum of Art and Friday morning will be greeted by Gov. Phil Bryant.
GodwinGroup was founded in Jackson in 1937, and just last week was named as the top agency in Mississippi by AdWeek. It is the state’s oldest and largest communications company.
